Does
Our does include 40 head of commercial and registered Boer goats. We select does based on both phenotypic and genotypic quality. Our does are selected for their structural correctness, degree of muscling, soundness on the move and growth rate, as well as their bloodlines. We expect our girls to exhibit strong mothering ability and overall hardiness needed for surviving in a pasture environment.
Bucks
While our does are the foundation of our herd, bucks will have the single greatest genetic impact on the herd out of any one animal. We select our bucks carefully to improve the quality of our herd, both for the doelings we retain, as well as the animals and product we sell. Our bucks are selected for breed quality, structural correctness and muscling, growth rate, hardiness in pasture environments, and temperament.
The Herd
In 2018, we brought home our first 11 bred does, 8 commercial and 3 ABGA percentage does. From there, our herd has grown to include roughly 40 head of commercial does, and ABGA registered does and bucks.
